CBD oil for pets is the latest in the world of cannabidiol, given the preclinical studies to see if the properties of cannabidiol are also useful for conditions or diseases in pets such as dogs, cats or horses.
What is CBD oil?
The oil is one of the ways in which we can obtain cannabis, this is often much more convenient to acquire, maintain and administer.
According to a Harvard Medical School study, there appears to be evidence that CBD is beneficial in combating chronic pain, alleviating nausea and facilitating good sleep.
CBD oil for pets
Actually the form of the oil for both humans and pets is the same, what really varies are the percentages of THC and CBD and in our case also the flavor.

How to use CBD for pets
Before going into the percentages and ways of administration of cannabidiol oil, the following points should be taken into account:
Geographic legality
Depending on where we are and the legislation in force in that country, we can make use of our CBD oil in one way or another. Not all countries allow the sublingual or direct use of cannabidiol oil, so before using this product we must be well informed of its legality. In Spain, for example, the sublingual use of the oil is not allowed, it can only be used topically.
Consult your veterinarian
The first thing to do is to consult with the veterinarian about the possible use of CBD oil for pets, as we must take into account any treatment they are undergoing or know their history of pathologies.
Quantities and percentages
In addition, each person or pet is different, so we have to start with low quantities and percentages to gradually see how and what is the reaction to the oil and thus increase the amount administered.
Avoid product contamination
As in cosmetics in humans, it is best to avoid contact of the pipette with any surface, i.e. no direct contact between skin, animal, tongue with the pipette to avoid contamination of the product.
We offer salmon flavored oils to make it as easy to administer as possible, as it is preferable that the oil be taken directly and not mixed with food or treats. However, if your pet does not respond well to the oil administered alone, it can of course be mixed with food. We remind again that the consumption of CBD products in Spain is not allowed.
Now that we have some introductory points clear, let’s get to know the exact calculation for ideal use of cannabis oil for pets. A maximum dose of 1 mg of CBD per kg of body weight is used . The maximum dose for a dog weighing 10 kg would be 10 mg of CBD per day.
Thus, we will start with a dose of 0.1 mg/kg every 12 hours (twice a day), being the lowest dose for one week and observe the effects. Many times, a low dose will work well. If no effect is seen, it is recommended to increase to 0.25 mg/kg twice a day or go up as needed. We remind you that in Spain CBD products are for topical use.
